Same Kind of Different As Me10/10

Same Kind of Different As Me
Author: Ron Hall, Denver
Genre: Family and Relationships
This book was incredible. It was spiritually motivating, funny, and tender all at the same time. The story of Ron and Denver is one that should be shared forever. I cried, not teared up, CRIED for chapters at a time. The love of these people is so powerful and truly inspiring. This is a deeply touching story that should be given a chance by everyone.

Remarkable Creatures10/10

 Remarkable Creatures
Author: Tracy Chevalier
Genre: Historical Fiction
This was an INCREDIBLE book. It followed the lives of two women, different in age, class, and priorities. The two of them are friends who experience the life of finding fossils together. The characters are lovable and they go through conflicts and challenges that tear them apart and bring them back together. The details of the scenery and the location, Lyme Regis, are breath taking and consume the reader in the environment. There are trying love affairs and science discoveries that over step that boundary for women of this time. It's a fantastic read and I was sad when I was finished with it.

198410/10

 1984
Author: George Orwell
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
This was an incredible book. Orwell wrote this story as a vision of the future and it is a frightening thrill that makes you think about the state of the world today. This was very intelligently written. You witness the rise and fall of an individuals mind. The end is quite depressing but written to perfection.

The Memory of Running10/10

 The Memory of Running
Author: Ron McLarty
Genre: General Fiction
I thought this was a superbly written book. The author did a great job jumping between past and present in a way that kept you turning the page and helped you understand the main character more and more. This book was so sad but so heartwarming at the same time. Smithy, the main character, was so lovable and your heart just breaks for him over and over, but you also find yourself laughing at him as well. A great book, with a lot of great messages.

The Catcher in the Rye10/10

 The Catcher in the Rye
Author: J.D. Salinger
Genre: Classics
This is quite possibly my favorite book. I burned through this story so fast, it was like watching a movie. Holden was an intriguing character who I most of the time felt sorry for. The book was very entertaining and Salinger just has a different style to his writing, it's great.
