GREAT. I normally am not interested in such dramatic stories, but this one is very capturing. I t is about a girl whose soul purpose of life is to keep her sister alive as her legal donar. She soon reolizes that this is not what she wants to live like and begins to stir up her family's life with her personal decition. It is haert wrentching to be honest. In my opinion, the movie based on this book completely ruined the story. But all that matters is that it is a good book. Reader: Norhtstar16 Rating: 8/10 Reviewed: February 17 2010

I too, love the way that you get a sense of how each of the characters is connected to one another, and yet get to see how differently each person sees everything. Without giving away too much, I would say that most of Jodi Picoluts' books, end with an ironic twist that brings a deeper meaning to the topic of the book itself. I couldn't put this one down, and if you're looking for a similar book by the same author, try reading "Change of Heart" Reader: Kitkatchica86 Rating: 9/10 Reviewed: January 30 2010

I really enjoyed this book although I had trouble making the time to read it.
I liked that the book was told through more than one person's perspective; I think it helped me to understand how kate's cancer and anna's decision affected the rest of the family. I also enjoyed the parts of the story told by Campbell and Julia.
The author did a good job of tying up the court case and the mystery about judge the dog.
The final chapter and the epilogue were very sad. I found the ending very surprising.
I would definitely recommend this book to all of my friends and family. I agree that it sends a message about how to be a good parent or sibling.
I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. Reader: Violet Rating: 9/10 Reviewed: July 02 2009

Wow... I was blown away by this book.
The story of a girl who was created to be a donor to her sister with cancer was heartbreaking and spellbinding.
This is a story about what happens to a family when one child is terminally ill, and how the rest of the family copes with it.
Beautifully written, I could empathize with all of the characters, from the sister who wants to stop being forced to undergo medical procedures to help her sick sister, to the troubled brother who has been ignored his whole life.
This was a really, really good book that I had trouble putting down. Reader: Allison Rating: 9/10 Reviewed: September 03 2008

This is a very good book. It's the story of Anna, who was born as a perfect genetic match to her sister Kate who has leukemia. Anna has been donating blood and marrow to her sister and at age 13 when Kate needs a kidney, Anna hires an attorney to emancipate herself from her parents and make her own medical decisions. It's well written and makes you think about what being a good parent and being a good sister are all about. I recommend it. Reader: Jackie Lo Rating: 8/10 Reviewed: June 25 2008
