The Manual is about Deidre, a single mother, of a teenage son that is having issues. Peer pressure, school failure, girls, and recognizing his talent of art is only a few of his problems. Deidre believes in giving her worries over to the Lord especially when her son's father comes back into their lives.
Deidre can't ignore her attraction and longing for Andre but she also knows he needs to hear a word from God. Andre on the other hand, stays hopeful that him and Deidre can pick up where they left off eight years ago. He regrets his decision to go along with Deidre's meddling mother and truly wants to make amends and correct his wrongs.
I loved her first book but this one could not keep my attention. I had a hard time staying interested in reading it. I put it down three times before finishing it. I did like the ending,it finally explained the title of the book, not quite sure why it took so long. I could have explained this in the middle of the book because I couldn't tell if it was about the two helping their son to get on track or if it was about Deidre converting Andre. Anyway, I will read this author again.
